Installing a window vapour-barrier tape means sealing the inner line of the installation joint when a window is fitted. The tape is applied on the warm, indoor side to protect the installation foam from indoor water vapour.
An inner vapour barrier prevents moisture from building up in the joint and extends its service life; on the outside the joint is usually protected with a waterproofing tape.
